A Storied Past
Bill Sandole came to Nantucket for a weekend getaway in 1978. The weekend ended up lasting 45 years. Being an avid fisherman, Bill spent his nights on vacation surf casting on Nantucket’s famed south shore beaches. He was so successful those first couple of nights that he needed to figure out what to do with all of his catch. Filleting Striped Bass on picnic tables and going door to door at downtown restaurants, East Coast Provisions & Seafood Co was born. Many years later his business would become known as “167” when he opened his retail store at 167 Hummock Pond Road in 1995.
Fish Market
Our OG location at 167 Hummock Pond Rd has evolved over the years, the fish market has expanded to offer prime meats, a unique selection of wine & beer, fine cheeses & a long list of other gourmet items. The fish market operates 9 months out of the year at the coveted 167 Hummock Pond Road location.
Food Truck
After opening 167Raw-Charleston in 2014, we knew we wanted to bring a restaurant element to the fish market. For years we had fantasized about having a “cool spot out back where anyone could just roll up straight from the beach and enjoy some amazing local seafood”. In 2015 we finally decided to make it happen. Stop in for an order of fish tacos on the run or go all out with a few Lobster Rolls in the Market Garden.
Raw Bar
Started by owner Jesse Sandole in 2010 as a Raw Bar catering company and “pop-up” Oyster Bar, Cisco Brewers was one of the birthplaces of the 167Raw brand. We’ve been slinging shellfish at the iconic Nantucket brewery ever since. Come join us for a cocktail & a dozen!
